We have spent several years developing a real Dual Action Solar Tracker for the DIY community. This is not one of the toys that hold a few panels and disappear in the first bad weather event. The Sunchaser 8 is a genuine commercial product, and has been installed in major solar generation farms around the world. Most solar trackers of this size need to have a crane on site to complete installation. We designed this dual axis solar tracker so one or two persons on ladders could safely finish the project. Once you dig the hole and finish the concrete (the hard part) the rest goes together easily with our well written and detailed installation manual.
The most amazing thing about doing it yourself is to have the satisfaction of knowing how everything works. You never need to call an unresponsive repair service. And, you have the most awesome lawn ornament in the neighborhood.
REASONS TO BUY NOW
1-You need to file for building permits by December 31, 2023 to take advantage of the 30% federal tax credit. This is real money, not a complicated tax percentage item. You get dollar for dollar off the taxes you owe. If you file now you can carry over the 30% on solar money spent next year, if it is greater than your taxes this year. To simplify the math, if you spend 10,000.00 on solar equipment, services, labor and etcetera, the IRS will allow a 3000.00 tax credit. If you had 3000,00 in federal income tax deducted, you get it ALL back ( Link to IRS)
2-You live near or above latitude 40 NORTH Many independent University studies have shown that the implementation of solar trackers increases solar production by 40%. That's huge when you look at the total cost of a state of the art solar generation system. You need less equipment at lower cost to produce more electricity. The eight panels on this dual axis solar tracker produce as much electricity as 12 roof or ground mounted panels. (Link to Map)
3-You did the math and know the Sunchaser 8 panel dual axis solar tracker is actually several thousand dollars less than a good ground mount system for 12 panels for equal solar production. You can also save over a roof mounted system. Popular belief is roof mounts are cheapest. Not true, most roofs do not point true south and many need to be redone, at great cost, before a mounting system can be installed. (Link to Math)
4-You have limited space. DIY Sunchaser 8 solar tracker dual axis uses 4 square feet of space. The space around the base can be used for gardening, recreation or hanging a hammock. A 12 panel ground system uses a whopping 300 square feet of useless space. Roof mounts can be difficult and not very efficient. And, you need at least four additional panels to equal the production of a dual axis solar tracker.

You can reach out to us for information and assistance from designing, building, to plugging in. We are constantly researching for the best and most cost effective products for solar power. Your success is our success!
6. Solar tracking and dual axis sun trackers like the Sunchaser 8 are not new. The information and research has been around for years.

What is new is the technology that makes it more accurate and affordable. Ten years ago a decent solar tracker cost $30,000.00 dollars, now it's a tenth of that.
7. The Sunchaser 8 is superior to all other solar trackers because it is Autonomus.
That means it makes it's own decisions. It measures the wind, snow and rain and automatically goes into safe or shed position. You don't have to stand by, watch it and make adjustments manually or with your phone. Install it and forget it! Equipped with the newest 600 watt solar panels, it is an unbeatable 6.5 to 8.1 KW electric generating system.
Buyer Beware! If you are shopping for a solar tracker in the 10 to 12 panel range, some sellers are up charging for the 12 when it is exactly the same product as the 10. The total square footage of panels is about 236. That will mount 12 small panels or ten of the newer more powerful panels. Do the research, don't overpay.
At our location in Roscoe, New York in the Sullivan County Catskill Mountains we chose to go with two Sunchaser 8's. Our plan is to install (16) sixteen 500+ watt Qcell monocrystaline panels and 10kv battery backup. We will be 100% OFFGRID! It's not only the $300 to $400 dollar monthly electric bills but the belief that future Grid Failure will happen. It is also rewarding that the electric bills will pay off our 15,000,00 dollar total investment in three years.
Do the math 15,000,00 minus 30% tax rebate of 4,500 equals 10,500 divided by 36 months is 292.00 per month. Thank you! utility company.
At howtodiysolar we sell, warranty (3 years) and service Sunchaser products. We constantly shop the market for the best available products for technology and value. We fully stand behind every product we sell.
Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Over the years, there has been a continued effort aimed at enhancing the energy output of PV panels. One of such innovations is in the use of Sunchaser 8 solar trackers to improve the overall performance and efficiency of solar systems. This paper presents a critical review of various types of solar tracking systems, highlighting their key characteristics, merit, and demerits. In addition, a prototype double axis solar tracker was developed and tested. The results show the power output of the prototype double axis solar tracker to be 30.5% higher than that of a fixed PV system, also an increase in efficiency from 35.91% to 45.45% was observed. Finally, the research reveals that a double-axis solar tracked PV system in Nigeria will deliver an estimated 823, 150, 000Wh more energy than PV system without the use of solar tracker in the long term, which further justifies the importance of solar trackers in renewable energy integration to grid.
